This is me. I grew up in Campbell River, and graduated from Carihi Secondary. Believe it or not, I dropped out of the French Immersion program in grade 10. My priorities were changing, and I didn’t get along with the teacher. This is one of the many experiences that guided my path to teaching.
Teachers matter. Were they a bad teacher? No. Was I a bad student? Maybe. What really matters is that neither of us did our best to meet each other in the middle. I know as a teacher, that is my duty. In my case, it just wasn’t the right time, and I recognized that. Low and behold, in my first year of University, I rediscovered my passion for the french language, and VOILA, here I am.
